In a recent address at an event organised by the Gems and Jewellery Exports Promotion (GJEPC), Mukesh Ambani, the esteemed Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, championed the pivotal role of the business community in fostering a stronger and more inclusive India. With an air of confidence, Ambani projected the industry’s trajectory towards reaching a remarkable USD 100 billion in exports shortly, underlining the collective responsibility of businesses in contributing towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a fully developed India, often referred to as “Viksit Bharat.”

Amidst accolades for the gems and diamonds sector, which has made substantial contributions to the economy with exports exceeding USD 40 billion and the creation of over 50 lakh jobs, Ambani specifically highlighted the remarkable journey of individuals from Palanpur. From modest beginnings, these individuals have emerged as significant players in the industry, symbolizing the spirit of entrepreneurship and perseverance.

Recognizing his familial roots in Kathiawad, Ambani seized the moment to advocate for collaborative opportunities between Kathaiwadis and Palanpuris. He emphasized the potential for partnerships between the two communities to unlock greater opportunities, affirming the adage that “the bigger the pie, the better for us.”

Ambani’s address took a personal turn as he expressed pride in his daughter-in-law, Shloka Mehta, whose father leads Rosyblue, a leading company in the sector. He extended gratitude for Shloka’s presence in the family, praising her warmth and wisdom, which undoubtedly enriches their lives.
